A geological survey based on satellite imagery conducted in the recent times gives sufficient evidence to the fact that 97.2% of the world’s water is saline ocean water, 2.14% is in ice caps and glaciers, 0.61% is groundwater, 0.009% is surface water, and 0.005% is soil moisture.
Which means a very small percentage of the world’s total water supply is available to human consumption. Of the total amount of fresh water that is available, over 98% is groundwater, which is very significant and matters most when buying water of obscure origin.
And another research clearly proves that of the three major zones of water belt around the world, Pakistan sits atop the third largest fresh water belt reserve in the world.
